We have done our second week of a series of challenges for the Creative Crew called Quick & Quirky – a quick challenge where we share one commonly found object from our homes or studio and the Crew has one week to make something, anything and upload to instagram, facebook using the #ccbquickquirkyproject. The challenge item must be incorporated in the project somehow and the Crew Member must use at least one product from Canvas Corp Brands. They can add anything else they wish. The goal is to have fun, without stress. Simply to pimp their stash! We are thinking about expanding this challenge to everyone, comment if you would like us to do that.
We award one winner for the quirkiest project – $25 gift card to spend in the CCB Online Shop! Our challenge item this week was MAGAZINES.
This weeks winner is Barb Housner
“I found this magazine page with a map and desicided to use it for this project. I also found the paint brush with paint on it. The base journal page was already started with leftover paints from a previous project. I also used Tattered Angels Baseboard Sky & Tattered Angels High Impact Paint Orange.”
Kim Rippere made this beautiful image; “This is a Cirque de Solei image. The background is made from Tattered Angels High Impact paints. I used a Signo pen to write words like; reflect your values, grow, art, explore, create.”
Kimberly Arts made a framed art piece.
“I took my magazine finds and cut out the adorable ladies, glued it onto a Canvas Corp white tissue, that I also folded over the front of the pictures. Then I fussy cut them out – using the white tissue and glue makes the pictures more sturdy and easy to cut. I also used backing from a 7gypsies Wanderlust paper pad and Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists Gold Orange & Kiwi. The art was mounted in a frame from 7gypsies.”
Jean Marmo made a cool quilt like card. WE love the flower! A dust with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists give the card some extra sparkle.
Now we really hope that YOU can find inspiration in the pieces above and create something with your magazines.
Look out for the #ccbquickquirkyproject on Facebook & Instagram – we are up for a new inspiring challenge this week.
Don’t forget to leave us a message if you would like to participate in upcoming Quick & Quirky Challenges and we will see about opening up to everyone!!!
Happy Creating!!!

Barbara Housner’s travel journal really speaks to me! Combining the map image with a paint brush — I love it. Traveling is such an eye-opening experience; it colors our world view. Perfect imagery. The orange/blue colors capture the vibrancy and action of travel. Thanks so much for the inspiration!
