Karen Jiles here with you today and I’d like to show you my seashore themed mini album.
I really enjoyed creating this mini book with the Sails and Shells collection. I loved the colors of the collection and how beautifully the elements coordinated. The collection included different base textures: corrugated board, patterned fabric, and burlap, providing so many fun textures to create with.
I coordinated the paper collection with paper bags as the base. Paper bags enable fun pockets and paper flexibility. This mini album will be perfect to hold beach memories this year and will be the perfect gem to pass down from generation to generation. The album measures 5 ½ x 7.
Materials used to make the mini album:
Canvas Corp Mix and Match Pad – Sails and Shells
Tattered Angels Color Wash Paint – Vanilla Milkshake
Paper Bags, Pearls, Crocheted Ribbon, Starfish, Jute, Gesso, E6000
Xyron Machine, Cinch Machine, Coils, Trimmer, Scissors, Foam Brush
Trim Sails and Shells patterned papers and fabric down to size of paper bags, apply adhesive and adhere to paper bags.
Decide patterned paper sequence. Bind the paper bags together with a binding machine and coils.
Take corrugated board and wrap around bound paper bags.
Adhere the corrugated board to back and front cover of paper bags.
Apply Vanilla Milk Shake Color Wash Paint to corrugated board.
Adhere layers of patterned paper to front cover. Add crocheted ribbon.
Adhere jute and starfish to the cover of your mini album.
Add pearls using adhesive and continue to embellish the cover as desired.
Tap gesso over the cover of the mini album using a paintbrush.
Cut elements from the paper collection and coordinate additional pages in the mini album.
Design inside pages with coordinating paper elements.
Add frames and tags to the album.
Remember to leave space for photos.
Continue embellishing the inside pages.
This seashore-themed mini album is perfect for keeping your holiday memories in one place.
Happy crafting!!!
