Spring Burlap Flower Basket

As we start to leave winter behind, we are looking forward to spring and everything bright, warm, and sunny! We love seeing what the Crew is working on each season. Evelyn Walter has this lovely, bright basket that she spruced up for spring with some of our burlap, papers, and Tattered Angels paints. Adding in a few daffodils makes this a piece that can be displayed inside your home or outside! You could also give it as a housewarming gift or to your Easter dinner host or hostess. Those yellow daffodils just make our blue burlap pop!

Materials Used:

CC burlap flower teal

Mix & Match Pad Spring Showers
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist: Yellow Daisy, Caper Green, Dried Lavender, Dragonfly
Flower

Freezer bag,

Wooden stick

Soil
Pots with spring flowers

Heat gun

Little shovel

‘Do you need a quick and simple home decoration for Spring/Easter? I while ago I bought potatoes, which were sold in this pretty little basket. Okay, I admit, I bought them because of this basket, because I imagined immediately when I saw it, how it could be filled in another way. I bought some pots with spring flowers, grabbed some of my CCB goodies and began my alteration. This is what I ended up with.’ – says Evelyn.

STEP 1

Take a freezer bag or some sturdy plastic, cut it to open, and put it into the basket. Make sure that there are no holes so that the soil and water will stay inside.

STEP 2

Measure the height. You want to end up the burlap and cut some strips of the teal burlap from the mix & match pad Spring Showers.

STEP 3

Now take your heat gun and glue the burlap strips around the basket. Start where you´ll add the burlap flower. Make that step by step to avoid drying the glue too early. Put the burlap in little folds to create more interest. When you start with a new stripe, fold the outset back., so nobody will see there is a cut. Continue until you are around.

STEP 4

Glue down your burlap flower and put a fabric blossom into the middle.

STEP 5

Fill soil into the basket and arrange your spring flowers.

STEP 6

Cut out some sayings from the mix & match pad and color them with Glimmer mist that coordinates with the flowers and burlap. You can use the Glimmer Mists like watercolor!

STEP 7

Take a wooden stick and glue it to the middle of one tag. Glue the other one to the back, so both sides are beautiful! Stick it into your flower basket and voilá, your home decoration is ready!
