When I was little coloring was one of those things that could keep me occupied for hours. When I was a bit younger than I am today, I often found myself with some younger relatives coloring books surrounded by the little big eyed owners. I even got a Mermaild´s Coloring book for my 25th birthday….. Well imagine what happened when I got my hands on the Tattered Tangles!
The Tattered Tangles are printed on mistable paper that is really heavy and give your colors a perfect base. You can use the papers as they are or cut them up to fit your project. I choose to cut up my paper and use if for a mixed media layout. I will show you how in a (picture heavy) step-by-step.
Step 1
I started off with painting my paper with Glimmer Glaze and Glimmer Mist in different colors.
Step 2
As I wanted to really highlight the Tangled pieces I made a background by applying layers of Glimmer Glaze on a white cardstock.
Step 3
I used a wet dish cloth to smear the Glimmer Glaze a bit. You can see that the green and grey colors are a bit diluted on the picture below.
Step 4
To add dept and a more solid background for my painted Tangled pieces I started to build up layers of stamped words & arrows with these 7 Gypsies wood stamps.
Step 5.
When satisfied how the background looked I added the cut out strips from my Tattered Tangles paper. I cut them in smaller pieces and placed them in vertical and horizontal lines.
Step 6
Embelllishments! I painted a chipboard word with some Glimmer Glaze to keep it in the same color scheme as the rest of the layout. You can also see that I added a some random paint splatters to the layout.
And the finished layout!
Thanks for your visit here today! I hope that I have inspiered you to try out different ways of using the Tattered Tangles products!
