Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and a bit of decor might just be in order. Crew member Robin Woodward shows us this sweet little banner that is perfect for a small wall or part of a bigger Valentine Decor set up. The touch of burlap and ticking gives it a rustic Valentine feel that is just perfect. This Valentine project leaves off the glitter and we just love it.
I wanted to create a little LUV project for Valentines Day and found the Canvas Corp Brands 2″x2″ stretched natural burlap pieces created a perfect base for this easy project! – Robin
Materials Used:
Canvas Corp 2″x2″ stretched burlap (3)
Canvas Corp Red Ticking Fringe (15″ piece)
Canvas Corp Hemp Rope Hank Red
Canvas Corp Brands 12″x12″ 10 oz. canvas sheet Natural (cut 3,1″x1″ squares)
Fabri-Tac Adhesive by Beacon
5/16 wood dowel piece (3″ long)
Canvas fibers salvaged from washing 12″x12″ canvas in washing machine
Scrabble Letters (LUV)
These project comes together quickly – here are a few details Robins shares to help with the measurements:
Cut about a 15” piece of Canvas Corp Brands Red Ticking Fringe and fold back 1” for a rod pocket. Sew with a sewing machine, or hand stitch if preferred.
Three 2×2 stretched burlap canvases with clumps of strings salvaged from the washing machine, after washing a 12” x 12” piece of Canvas Corp Brands Canvas. Spray these clumps of strings with Tattered Angels Barn Red Glimmer Mist and let dry.
Cut 3, 1” x 1” squares from the washed 12” x 12” piece of Canvas Corp Brands 10 oz. natural canvas and add 3 scrabble game tiles (LUV).
Add the pieces together spelling out the word LUV
Cut a 3” piece of a 5/16 wood dowel and add your Canvas Corp Brands red hemp rope for a hanger.
Using Fabri-Tac Adhesive by Beacon, measure where you want your stretched burlap pieces to hang on your red ticking fringe and glue them into place.
You can add a red hemp rope heart at the bottom as pictured, if desired, or leave plain.

I love this piece, it’s so warm and inviting. I could this being a vignette as well with different embellishments, using the same color scheme or put picture on each piece.
