Hello, I am Karen Jiles. I really enjoyed creating this twin set of canvas with the Sand & Sea Collection. I love the versatility of the collection. The patterns coordinated well together and the colors were perfectly paired with various embellishments. The collection included patterned paper, corrugated board, patterned fabric, and colored burlap.
I used 4 x 6 Stretched Canvas to build upon, highlighted the canvases with Light Blue High Impact Paint and dyed ribbon to coordinate with the canvases using Dragonfly Glimmer Mist. The size of the canvas provide the perfect opportunity to display them on a desk or wall.
Take a peek at the tutorial below.
Materials used to make the twin set of canvas:
Canvas Corp Mix and Match Pad – Sand & Sea
Canvas Corp – 2 x Stretched Canvas
Tattered Angels High Impact Paint – Light Blue
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist – Dragonfly
Shells, Pebbles, Beaded Pins, Ribbon
Trimmer, Scissors, Sanding Bar, Paintbrush, Sponge
Gesso, E6000, Xyron Machine
Trim Sand & Sea patterned papers down to layering size of canvas and decide patterned sequence.
Sand all paper layers, apply adhesive and begin adhering to canvas.
Add a small amount of water to Light Blue High Impact Paint.
Using a foam sponge, apply paint to edges of canvas.
Adhere corrugated board, patterned paper and burlap to the canvas.
Add layered sentiments from the paper collection.
Add coordinating flowers, dyed ribbon and clear pebbles.
Note: The ribbon was dyed with Dragonfly Glimmer Mist.
Add shells and beaded pins to the canvas.
Tap Light Blue High Impact Paint and gesso over the canvas using a paintbrush. Let dry.
Continue embellishing as desired.
Your Beach-themed canvas twin set is ready to display in your house or on your patio.
Happy crafting!!!
