Who doesn’t love a Farmhouse Christmas?
Memories of days gone by. Memories of a freshly cut tree in the corner, and the smell of fresh holiday cooking the air.
With fresh falling snow blanketing the ground, the trees and the fields.
And of a roaring fire going inside and the sound of Christmas joy filling the air.
With the Canvas Corp Farmhouse Christmas Paper Collection you too can be inspired by such memories.
Such memories were so inspiring in fact, that I have made a gift trio from this collection.
For this project collection I used the following products from Canvas Corp Brands:
Canvas Corp Farmhouse Christmas Paper Collection
Canvas Corp Holiday Words Ivory Paper
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist – English Ivy
Tattered Angels Plain Jane Simply Sheer – Red Rose
Tattered Angels Plain Jane Baseboard Mist Paint – Ivory
The Card
To make the vintage Santa card, I used a square Kraft Paper Card along with a variety of print and solids, sizes of card stock squares to create layers as a background.
For the center of the card I chose a Santa print from the Farmhouse Christmas Patchwork Kraft Paper card stock. I then added color using Glimmer Mist, Simply Sheer & Baseboard Mist Paint.
Once dry, I added the Santa with double sided foam tape for added dimension. I chose to add the “Joyeux Noel” salutation from the Holiday Words Ivory Paper, and added a small jute bow as an embellishment.
For just a bit more of a rustic touch, I used additional jute rope, added at the crease of the card, tied in a bow and secured with glue.
The Box
The paper mache’ box, I covered using the Farmhouse Christmas Snowflake Reverse Kraft Paper cardstock, cut into 5 squares measured to fit the four sides and top of the box. After gluing each square in place, I used my distressing tool around all corners and also sanded the surface of each square.
In designing the lid for the box, I chose the Diamond Cardstock once again, for the sides of the lid, also distressed. I also added a hunter green paper crafted ribbon to the lid top, along with some Christmas embellishments from my stash.
For the four sides of the box, I used squares, on the diagonal, of the snowflake print from the Farmhouse Christmas Patchwork card stock. And I added the holiday greeting from the Better Not Pout Tags from the Farmhouse Christmas Collection.
The Ornament
The centerpiece of this gift collection, is the ornament.
Using the fillable acrylic ornament, I added a vintage Santa image cut from the Farmhouse Christmas Patchwork Kraft Paper to the inside.
I then followed by adding faux snow, mini paper flowers in shades of green, and a bit of fine white glitter to the inside as well.
For the top of the ornament, I added a fabric remnant “ribbon”.
In addition with various Christmas embellie’s to finish the ornament.
What a perfect fit for the box, and it truly coordinates well with the card too!
A vintage gift trio, from ONE paper collection.
The perfect gift to give to any loved one that lives, or has lived on a farm.
To you and yours this wonderful holiday season,
wishes for the Merriest Christmas & Blessings for the New Year!
