Welcome to today’s instalment of Wings On Wednesday where we focus on projects incorporating wings and Tattered Angels products. Our Crew member, Kimberly created an amazing neutral in colour canvas with an angels as its centrepiece; it would make an astounding addition to your living room wall!
Hello! It’s Kimberly here today to share with you a fun but messy canvas project that’s sure to inspire you to get some joint compound at your local hardware store and play. It works so nicely with all the lovely Canvas Corp Brands products… Anyways, today I’m making an angel canvas. The key to this project is to just have fun and experiment… you’re going to be happy you tried this… I can’t express how much fun and relaxing it is… so, please, join me in the fun…
Materials used:
canvas
Tattered Angels Deco & DIY paint`- Dove
Tattered Angels Cardboard Mist – Baseboard
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist – Two Cent Coin
Architextures Tall Base – Wings
Architextures Parchment Rub-On – Pose
joint compound
spatula
popsicle stick
paint brush
paper towels
When transferring the rub-on design on the canvas, place a book under where you’re adding the it ,then use a popcicle stick to rub it off the paper and onto the canvas. Now take a big dollop of the joint compound and plop it onto the canvas then using a spatula cover the canvas evenly making sure to not cover the face. If you do, don’t worry… take a paper towel and wipe it off. Now, use your fingers or a tool and make some swirls around the canvas to create the background.
Now for the fun part! Form your angel wings (you could pre-draw them or use the Architextures Wings) or just add joint compound and form the wings on top of the swirls the way you want them… CCB have some gorgeous wings you could use – they would look amazing!!! I didn’t have any at the time so I decided to make my own using my Tattered Angels paints and sprays. I love that they work so well with the compound.
Paint the design using Tattered Angels mists. You can find a variety of colours in the TA Paint Shop – to make it easier, the colours are arranged in groups for you! Isn’t that cool?!
To finish you can add some lovely sayings from the Parchment Rub-On sheet or its packaging; the latter is what I used.
Thank you for meeting me for today’s Wings On Wednesday.
Have a great day!
