Our creative tribute to breast cancer awareness, support and celebration for those who are fighting the battle, won the battle or fought a good fight continues with these special canvases that Lynne created in honor of the caregivers. Breast cancer affects more than just those who have it or have had it, it affects the family, the caregivers and friends.
This month is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!
As I have a rather close association with Cancer
(not Breast Cancer)
this months assignment hit a bit close to home!
I have a great empathy for those walking along this path
whether the patient or the caregiver!
Neither is an easy road!!
So….this is what I received from Canvas Corp Brands to work with.
I challenged myself to use as much of the given product
as I could, on my creation!
I began by choosing one of the papers ~
CCB Hot Pink with White Damask Reverse.
I then painted on a layer of
Tattered Angels ~ High Impact Paint ~ Hot Pink.
I randomly applied Perfect Paints ~ Shimmering Stucco
through The Crafter’s Workshop ~ Tile Texture.
I cut a heart out of my “new paper”
and backed it with a slightly larger piece of lace.
I then took a piece of CCB ~ Burlap Ivory Sheet
and cut a heart from it.
I spritzed my Burlap heart with water and applied
Tattered Angels ~ High Impact Paint ~ Hot Pink
around the edges.
I cut another heart, slightly larger from a piece of
CCB ~ Pink and Ivory Mini Dot paper,
distressed the edges and adhered them together.
From there, I began working on the CCB ~ Burlap 3×3 Canvas.
I placed The Crafter’s Workshop ~ Hourglass on my canvas
and randomly applied Tattered Angels High Impact Paint ~ Hot Pink.
When dry, I applied Bo Bunny’s Silver Glitter Paste
through The Crafter’s Workshop ~ Beaded Curtain
then when dry, I repeated the first layer.
I then put my canvas together…..
I hand wrote my sentiment
and finished it off with a bit of
CCB Hemp Rope ~ Hot Pink
and a Petaloo Mini Pearl Daisy!
I photographed my creation….edited the photos
but felt it wasn’t done because as I stated earlier
I have ALOT of EMPATHY for the caregivers….
and I knew how I needed to finish this off!
I went back to my work area and created a smaller canvas….
using all the same steps.
I hinged the two canvases with a piece of
CCB ~ Burlap Ivory Sheet
and covered both backs with
CCB ~ Burlap Hot Pink.
I will be sending the canvases of hope off to a
dear caregiver friend of mine….
Make sure to get your Mamogram done and share
some love or a word of encouragement
with someone who is walking this path….
I AM SURE THEY CAN USE IT!!
Creating and healing!!!!
