Hello, I am Jean Marmo with a home decor project for the upcoming Independence Day. The 4th of July celebrates the signing of the Declaration of Independence from the British Empire. In our family celebrations involve picnics, family, friends, and fireworks. Decor is always red, white and blue. This year, I decided to make a new banner for the occasion.
Materials Jean used for her banner:
Canvas Corp Red and Ivory Toile Paper
Canvas Corp Red and Ivory Mini Dot Rev Paper
Canvas Corp Burlap Flower Ivory
Canvas Corp Tissue Stock French Script on Ivory
Canvas Corp Burlap Fringe Natural Burlap
Canvas Corp Mix and Match Pad Jolly Christmas Yup, you did read it right! Don’t let the name of the collection mislead you! It contains plenty of papers that you can use for non-Christmas projects!!!
Tattered Angels Color Wash Blue Lagoon and Red Wine
Tattered Angels Pure Mistable Paper Corduroy
Die Cutting machine
Cut your chosen size pennants out of cardboard (this will make them quite sturdy) and cover them with Canvas Corp papers.
Paint themed chipboards with Color Wash Paint – to add texture and interest, you can also use some background stamps and stencils.
Splatter Pure Mistable Paper with Color Wash Paint and, after the paint is dry, die-cut various flowers to use as embellishments.
Using various embellishments like flowers, flags and lettering, build up cluster groups on individual pennants.
I made flowers from Mistable Paper and Tissuestock. Clusters include buttons, chipboard, emphera.
To finish, attach a ribbon to the backs to assemble the banner for hanging.
Are you ready for your celebrations?! We surely are!
Have a great sunny week!
Jean
