I’m so excited to share my Vacation Journal with you! It is an ongoing project that I have created to document a trip My Mom and I took to Virginia to see my sister. We attended a very inspirational art retreat that changed how I look at my mixed media projects forever!
I glued, sewed and stitched various memorabilia from my trip. You might notice the wine bottle sack, the coffee house menu, the vineyard handout and the Colonial Williamsburg vintage paper money. I mixed these items with bright collaged papers and then misted, painted and layered my favorite Tattered Angels paint products.
Here’s a look at the front cover (on the right) and the back cover (on the left). My Journal is open and facedown. I used Teal High Heel Chalkboard Mist, Mermaid Glimmer Glam, Cowboy Glimmer Glaze; Patina and Vanilla Breeze Glimmer Mist.
The picture below shows two of the inside pages. I used some really cool Neenah paper that works brilliantly with Tattered Angels Products. The colors just blend into each other fabulously!
For these pages I used Gesso; Teal High Heel, Firefly, Alaskan Salmon, Inch Worm and Chalk Chalkboard Mist. I also colored the white flower ribbon with Firefly chalkboard. I coated the flower and butterfly with Chandelier Glimmer Glam. I also used Royal Velvet Glimmer Glam. I misted Olive Vine, Forest Green and Patina Glimmer Mist. I also used Sugar Cane Glimmer Glaze. Tattered Angels Stamps Blossom Trees Screen Print Clear Stamps. I also included some seed packets from the Colonial Williamsburg Gardens.
The great thing about journals is there is no right or wrong way to create them. Have fun! Create pockets, use your handwriting, collect ephemera from your travels and stitch it into your journal, and of course load your journal with Tattered Angels products, the sky is the limit!
Wedding is the theme for this month on the Tattered Angels Website! They have a gorgeous palette of colors that are sure to dazzle any bride! (Make sure to check out their Facebook page too for more inspiration.)
Here is my wedding project to share with you! It’s a Flower Girl Basket.
I used Teal High Heel Chalkboard Mist on the basket, Firefly Chalkboard Mist on the flowers, Polka Dot Pink Chalkboard Mist on the Playful Patterns Crepe Ribbon, Chandelier Glimmer Glam on the butterflies. This basket can be misted, glammed and glazed to any color palette.
The sweet little girl is my little Mackenzie, and she was only too happy to be my model today. Happy Creating!

Love it! These projects have Holly written all over them! Love how blendable the paint mists are – it’s so good it’s like the paper is manufactured that way.
