Marie creates the perfect wedding memory box for that destination wedding on the beach, marriage on the open seas or for the couple who loves the ocean. All the wedding memories can be tucked inside and stored to be opened each anniversary to remember the great moments. Tattered Angels Paints are a great way to transform chipboard and blank paper boxes into works of art. The paint with a touch of glam and glitter dries to a beautiful finish that is so not dull. Unlike many paints on the market that go on smooth and shiny, but dry to a dull finish.

Marie here!!! I want to show you how I made my wedding keepsake box. First of all I must say The Maritime Collection from 7Gypsies is really versatile and one of my all time favorites! You could us it to create just about anything nautical, maritime or beach themed, like a wedding projects for example. I think it has a soft romantic look that fits really well for a creative wedding project. This memory box was created to save little memories and keepsakes in – cards, notes, recites and all those things that you can look at in 20 years and remember that special day and the preparations that took you there.
The design is really simple. All I have used is a pressed paper book box, chipboard, two vintage buttons and flowers together with Tattered Angels paints and mist and the Maritime Voilier 12×12 paper.
Start with a paper machete or cardboard box, the Tattered Angels Mists will react differently to each surface, it is fun to experiment. You an dilute the mist colors to get this distressed watercolor look.
Let the paint drip down and dry to create this beautiful watercolor design. The mixture of colors work so well together. The box could be finished at this stage.
Next you will cut the the Maritime Voilier 12×12 paper to cover the visible spaces on the side and the front, distressing it as you go, no need to cover it completely, let some of the box and paint show through.
Add two buttons to the front and the back to create your closure with your choice of cord.
Embellish the front with wooden die cuts, flowers, crosses, frames, leaves and more using blues, white, kraft and white to keep the color palette simple and fresh.
Happy Creating!!!
