We have had so much fun sharing such cute baby boy books, each with their own little personalities just like the babies themselves. Tatiana shares a soft and simple book with just the right embellished touches to finish it off just perfectly. Inspired by the simple blue and ivory tones of the collection the book and the baby will be fun to brag about. Tatiana has already gifted this precious little book and the new mother was very happy because of the classic colors and the small size – no need to have a lot of space to keep it in the house and she can take an album anywhere to show the funny and sweet baby’s face to the relatives. Tatiana hand crocheted the doilies she used on the handmade card. What a beautiful added touch. We found 7 beginner crochet patterns on favecrafs.com if you want to give it a try yourself.

You can start with a pre-made book any size or you can create you own with chipboard and then bind it together. Tatiana will all you through the pages and you can determine if you are making the book or adding to the pages of the book.
New Born Baby Boy Handmade Book
Step 1: The Cover
Cover book board with canvas fabric and stitch into place – test your machine first, but it should go through cardboard or book board. Use a contesting stitching color for that added touch. Add gesso to the front of the canvas in a random pattern then begin to layer your papers, tags, mini bag, ribbon, embellishments and bling. You can glue or stitch them into place.
Pages 1-2:
Cut two pieces of Blue & Ivory Ribbon Stripe to the size of you book pages. Use the sewing machine to attach the papers to the journal – simply sew around the edges. If sewing isn’t your thing, glue will work just fine! Then, cut out sayings and pictures from the It’s a Boy Sampler On Ivory. Along with the Tall Tags & Ties White, arrange and layer the cutouts and glue on the pages. Add white paint or a thin layer of the gesso across some of the papers to give them the hand-painted touch, then add some little drips of yellow and blue paint and crystals on the pages.
Pages 3-4:
Choose the same or different blue and ivory papers to cover the next pages in the book and accent with embellishments, cresols and a touch of paint. Slip in mini paper bags to create hidden pockets for little messages, wallet size photos or ATC cards.
Pages 5-6:
So, this page is fun the stitched triangle banners. To achieve this look, all I did was cutout triangular pieces of Blue & Ivory Ribbon Stripe in triangular shapes around the letters spelling “baby” from Blue & Ivory Baby Boy Alpha. I then used the sewing machine to attach them to the background papers. Again, if sewing isn’t your thing, glue will work just fine and you can even add the zig zag with a mini black pen.
Pages 7-8:
You can punch pieces of the cardstock with the Zutter punch to create little pieces/tags to add to your projects. The Baby Boy Sampler has pieces for “first” which can be added to the mini bags you place on each page.
Pages 9-10:
Mixing and matching the papers, the embellishments in the blue, chocolate and ivory tones throughout the book gives the book a cohesive look that is all baby boy.
If you made the pages then line them up and punch the holes to add your binding, if you added your pages to a pre-made book you should be good to go.

To create this sleek handmade card stitch Blue Ivory & Chevron paper to the front of your card. Using the triangle banner method I showed you before, I created the cute polka dot banner. I also crocheted some fun little flowers on the front to add some depth and texture.
