Painted Valentine’s Day Tags

We love sharing quick and simple holiday projects that you can create even when the holiday is just around the corner.  Here are two amazing tags created by two of our Crew Members – Amber and Marie.  Both are Valentine Tags, but they both show us two totally different ways to make them and we ave to say, we love them both.  If you are planning to send some little Valentine goodies with the kids for their teachers, something handmade for a great friend or maybe your neighborhood is doing a valentine exchange, tags are a great way to put your personal touch on the gifts without having to do a large quantity of cards.

Hello CCB fans! Its Amber with a little Valentine’s Day inspiration. I love Valentine’s Day, not because I’m overly romantic or anything, but because I always have so many cute, crafty projects I want to do. I don’t know if it’s all of the pink, red, or mini chocolate hearts, but Valentine’s Day inspires me to get creative! Today I have two lovely tags to share along with a tutorial.
Materials Used:
CCBTagsStep1 [1600x1200]
Step 1: Cut or die cut two tags out of Solid Red on White paper.
CCBTagsStep2 [1600x1200]
Step 2: Stamp both tags with a text background stamp and mist. I used the text background stamps from Canvas Corp Savor the Moment stamp set and Tattered Angles Baseboard Gravel mist.
CCBTagsStep3 [1600x1200]
Step 3: Add some Sending Love Words on White paper and some Pink Burlap to the bottom half of the tags. I distressed the edges of the paper and then adhered it to the tags with some black thread. I cut the top part of my patterned paper at a diagonal and only added burlap to the top half.
CCBTagsStep4 [1600x1200]
Step 4: Stamp the “Love” sentiment from the Canvas Corp Be Beautiful stamp set in black onto some hot pink cardstock, cut, and distress. I used a Mini Round Hanger in Antique Brass to hold these in place behind my canvas roses.
CCBTagsStep5 [1600x1200]
Step 5:  To create my two roses I took a Canvas Round Mini Shape and cut it in to a spiral. Working form the outside in I rolled it up to create a rose. I added some hot glue on the bottom once it was rolled up to hold it together. Once I had my two roses rolled I misted them with some Tattered Angles Fire Baseboard Mist and added a little mini pearl in their centers. I also created four little leaves out of some scrap canvas and misted them with some Tattered Angles Leaf Baseboard Mist.
CCBTags3 [1600x1200]
That’s it, you’re done! All that is left to do is adhere the roses, sentiment, and leaves to the bottom left of the tags. I love how they turned out. Don’t you? These will make the perfect personalized gift toppers and they were super easy to create. You can change these up many different ways, you could use different colors, add hearts instead of roses, and even change the theme to suit any holiday. I hope you enjoyed my little tutorial today and Thanks for visiting!
Marie added a touch of turquoise to her Valentine tags and we love the pop, no need to just focus on red, pink and white for Valentine’s you can say Love in any color palette you choose.

Tags is a really fun project to do. The size is really optional and there are no limits to what you can do. Just simple ones with a bit of stamping or spritzes of Glimmer Mist. Or why don´t cover them with layers of leftover paper strips.
