Spring Succulant Pot

Succulents are the hottest trend in gardening these days. Available in a ton of colors, low maintenance and great for decorating. Pink, green, yellow and muted colors are making up this plant palette.  Housing these plants in concrete containers, brass or unconventional bases such as light bulbs and chandelier bases are part of this trend.
Think parties and table favors as an excuse to bring succulents to the table. But why not ring in Spring with colorful metal bases, plants and Canvas Corp green ticking just like Jennifer Hottinger-Sloan did in her latest CCB Crew project entitled, you guessed it; “Spring Succulant Pot.”

Jennifer used a metal planter and decorated it for Spring using succulents, CCB green ticking, burlap, and fabric. The pot was designed to have the flower removed if desired. The flower also has a clothespin on the back and a magnet so it can be taken off and used as a holder on the fridge! So clever don’t you think?
Materials Used: 

Note: I used a product called Phoomph to attach the fabric carrot on to the canvas. Phoomph is like a double sided sticky foam to give dimesion to projects.

To Make this piece attach two cut pieces of wide ribbon to green ticking flower. Attach one piece to the back of the flower and one into the grooves of the flower using glue.

Attach the fabric carrot cut from the Spring Showers panel to the burlap and the canvas using Phoomph for dimension.

Finally add waxed cord, embellishments, the clothespin and magnet.

Don’t forget to fill your metal containers with fresh or faux succulents to finish the look off. How simple is that? That flower could also be a pin. we could see it adorning your favorite outfit, purse or hat. The possibilities are endless.
