Chalkboard love

Hi this is Birgit.

Today I want to share with you a project created using chalkboards on wood and since this months theme is stencils I used a stencil too 🙂

First I covered the basswood canvas from Walnut Hollow with Gesso. Not because I didn’t want to work directly on the wood. Plain wood is perfect to spray on and gives a great effect. But sadly I ruined it with an earlier creative attempt so i had to cover that up.

Then I sprayed it with  Polka Dot Pink Chalkboard and let it dry. Then I placed a piece of Punchanella on top to use as a stencil and randomly covered it with Gesso creating texture.

When the gesso had dried I sprayed on top with Valencia, Firefly and a little Polka Dot Pink Chalkboard and let it dry again.

Then I added some splashes of turquoise acrylic paint, some stamps and some black Stazon using a smaller size of Punchanella. Finally I embellished it with feather angel wings that are actually a Christmas ornament and a jewel and added the text.

I hope you enjoyed my littel step-by-step! Have a lovely day!

See you next time!

Happy misting 🙂

Birgit

Gorgeous Birgit! Love the stenciling and textures. Those wings are lovely, and the quote is fitting!
