Up-cycling is so IN at the moment. We give new life to old chairs, tables, mirrors, frames and loads of other stuff that would otherwise end their life in a pile of junk. With a little bit of imagination, creativity and love, we give those items a second chance at a second life in a new home and very of then with a new owner.
Our Crew member, Sheri Levitt decided to up-cycle an old box that she received from one of her pen-pals. Chucking it away felt like such a waste so she put her crafty skills into practice and created this jewellery box with only a use of some Tattered Angels mists, Architextures Tall Base and some texture enhancing wet media.
I was given this box as part of a happy mail. I didn’t really know what to so with it but it felt as if it was begging to be altered… why not? I took some Tattered Angels paints and other media and started playing… you can see the process in the video below. – says Sheri.
Materials Sheri used to alter her box:
Tattered Angels Chalkboard Mist – Polka Dot Pink
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist – Tarnished Silver
Tattered Angels High Impact Paint – Hot Pink
7gypsies Architexturex Tall Base – Chicken Wire
Geli print
Americana Snow White craft paint
Liquidtex glass bead gel
Stencil
DecoArt Media white Texture paste
As you can see, turning a plain box into a personalised jewellery box could not be easier. A little bit of colour, texture and love will turn anything into a piece of beauty… just like Sheri did here.

Happy crafting!
