Altering notebooks and notepads have been done over and over again. It is just one of those fun projects to do because you just can’t go wrong with a decorative cover on your notebook.
I recently made 4 notebooks for the Canvas Corp crew and today I will show you two of them. I actually made them with thinking of the style of each of the gals in mind. The first one that I thought of was for Sonya. She is very classy with a quiet edge to her design, so I chose to use the Chocolate/Ivory & Red/Ivory combinations.
I made this top flower using some scrap felt. {see below for instructions}
This is the notebook that I designed for myself. I wanted to play with the color combinations of grey and yellow, I have been drawn to those colors lately. I took Canvas Corp’s Yellow and White thick stripe 12″x12″ paper and cut them into strips. I staggered the layout of the stripes to achieve this look. {see below for info. on how to make the bow}
This is what the Yellow and White wide stripe paper looks like originally before I altered the look.

Yellow/Grey Notebook Products Used: Canvas Corp: Yellow and White Stripe paper, Grey and White mini dot Grey Twine Other: notebook Instructions: 1. Cut 2″ x12″ strips of Yellow and White stripe paper. Attach them to the notebook going diagonal and stagger the yellow to not touch the yellow on the next strip. Trim off excess when attached to the top of the notebook. 2. To make the bow, cut the grey and white paper 2″x10″, bring the two ends together and make a circle, then glue together when it is the right size for your project. Take a little strip of yellow and white and add to the middle and that will form the bow. Cut a strip of paper the width of your notebook and then cut notches {triangles} on both sides. Attach to the notebook, add the bow on top. This can been made in lots of different sizes and you can even double up and have more bows layered on top of each other. 3. Tie the grey twine around the top of the notebook.
