Time to pull out all those Spring decorations! Now that Spring is officially here, we tend to like to brighten up our homes with flowers, greenery, and anything bright and cheery. Maybe the warming sun will even entice you to open a window or two! Today, we want to share Jennifer Hottinger-Sloan’s gorgeous Spring banner. This fun banner has a little bit of all three of our brands in it- 7Gypsies, Canvas Corp, and Tattered Angels! Maybe it’ll inspire you to try one of your own!
CC waxed cord – black
CC Medium clothespins
7gypsies Vintage Banner – Butterflies
Tattered Angels Chalkboard – Iron
Metal paperclip “bugs”
K&Co Paper butterflies
Beacon’s Quick Grip Glue
Jennifer created this fun banner by using some of 7Gypsies’ Butterfly Vintage Banners as a starting point and adding some vintage finds and other on-hand embellishments. She re-enforced the binding with some of our Waxed Cording and then attached the banners with some medium-sized clothespins. The letters that spell out “spring” were adhered to some chalkboard tags and then layered on top on some kraft tags. We also love that she kept the letters removable, so that they could be changed out to spell “summer” when the season changes!
The ends were embellished with burlap and silk flowers, wide ribbon, and paper butterflies. At various spots metal “bug” paperclips were added as well. The clothes pins were originally neutral so Jennifer sprayed them black with Tattered Angels spray. Our Mists and sprays are just perfect for changing up the colors of your embellishments so they can match any project you are creating!
This banner looks just stunning draped from Jennifer’s mantel, but banners are so versatile and can be hung in a variety of places- over a doorway, an old vintage window, from a table, or anywhere! Banners really are the perfect quick DIY décor project to brighten up your home for the seasons.
We’re so glad you stopped by today! If you liked this banner and want to see more of Jennifer’s creations, visit her BLOG or her INSTAGRAM. Happy Crafting!
