We have Jeannie DeGruccio, from Polka Cabana blog, guest posting for us today, we just love how she brings to life the cards that she creates!
Now when I tell you that Canvas Corp is my favorite Polka Dot paper manufacturer in the world, that is not to be taken lightly.
They have these cards, GREETING CARDS, you get a package of 8 plus envelopes.
They are just about the most fantastic thing I have ever owned.
I mean the card is just awesome on its own, all the bold polka dots and all. (Page 28 of the catalog)
So with such a wonderful base, how can any card go wrong?
I am going to show you 3 cards at 3 levels of difficulty. We will start with the most labor intensive card of the 3.
The Greeting Cards are large. They measure 5 x 7.
Here is one I created a ladybug scene on.
I also used a CHALKSTOCK TAG and some PAPER WRINKLES.
I love the effect of using the PAPER WRINKLES mixed in with the cut out grass border.
Here is a side view to see all the detail
This 2nd card was not as labor intensive.
I initially only wanted the fruit right on the card, but I did not make the strawberry large enough, oops!
Again, you can see that I used some PAPER WRINKLES for added flair. Th border on top of the yellow strip of paper is called BLACK & WHITE SWIRL REVERSE.
This last card was a breeze to make.
You all should know how much I ADORE Mary Engelbreit.
I took this image and mounted it on plain black cardstock and then again on ORANGE & WHITE DOT REVERSE before mounting on the GREETING CARD.
The flower embellishment is made from strips of paper from some ORANGE & BLACK PAPER WRINKLES.
The black tie on the left is done with BLACK JUTE CORD.
Here they are all together.
Isn’t this a great set of cards?
Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us, Jeannie!!

jeannie i love how you use black to make the bright colors pop..The texture on the strawberry is fabulous. I would have never though to use a embossing folder for strawberry.. such a clever gal.
