Coffee Break Tag

Coffee, Cocoa and Tea are some of our favorite things over here at the Canvas Corp Brand’s office. The smell, the flavor, the exhilaration after just one warm sip, even the whole set up surrounding these rich aromas make us smile. Brewing up a cuppa on a Sunday morning with family or grabbing a latte with friends at a cafe can spark up old memories and create new ones.SONY DSC
CCB Crew member Sanna Lippert  shares a great memory and project with us, revolving around the essence of coffee. Follow along as Sanna shows us how to create a Coffee Break Tag with some simple techniques inspired by a fond coffee memory.

When I was a little girl, my grandma used to make me a children´s coffee and ever since I have been in love with the smell of coffee. It brings back so many great memories! Therefore I wanted to create a coffee themed tag – the Beans and Bags collection combined with Tattered Angels sprays and 7gypsies stamps is perfect for this them.  The Beans and Bags Collection features vintage coffee cup, tea pots, tea cups, old ads, etc. art that come together to create a really fun coffee and tea paper collection that is so fun to work with.  The images can be colored to coordinate with your color palette.
Materials Used
1. Glimmer GlazeStone & Sugar Maple
2. Glimmer Glam – Java
3. CCB Mini Clothespins – Gold
4. 7gypsies stamp – PS0680
5. 7gypsies stamp – PS0810
6. Recollections Microbead – Champagne
7. Hero Arts Chalkboard black stamp ink
8. Silver Embossing powder – Ranger Ind. Inc.
9. Glossy Accents – Ranger Ind. Inc.
10. Manila tag – medium size
11. Kraft cardstock
12. Beans & Bags on Kraft paper
13. Beans & Bags fabric panel
14. Ivory burlap
15. Cord
Tools Used:  Stapler; Heating tool; VersaMark ink; Scissors; Paper glue; Black pen; Craft sheet

Step 1 –  First stamp with VersaMark ink using the 7gypsies stamp (PS0680) onto the tag, then heat emboss with silver embossing powder from Ranger.

Step 2 – Next spray Sugar Maple Glimmer Mist onto the embossed tag. Heat set with the heat gun and wipe residues off with a damp baby wipe.  The powder works like a resist with the Glimmer Mist leaving a very cool look.

Step 3 – Attach a piece of ivory burlap with a stapler. Add a piece of golden metallic yarn around the burlap area. Tie a knot and cut in size.

Step 5 – Fussy cut a fabric coffee cup out of a Beans & Bags fabric panel and color with Sugar Maple & Stone Glimmer Glaze. Use a heat gun for drying. Then fussy cut along the edges.  Tattered Angels Mists are great for tinting fabric, you can apply them with a brush or mist the entire piece.  The colors come out so rich when applied to fabric.

Step 6 – Cut an image from the Beans and Bags on Kraft paper and use the stapler to attach it to the tag.

Step 7 – Fussy cut a second image from the same paper and glue onto the tag with paper glue. Then glue the fabric, colored, coffee cup on top with the same paper glue.
