Cozy Placemats – Cozy Moment Challenge

Today Crew Member Claudia Neubacher share a project inspired by this months “Cozy Moment” Challenge.

Do you love to invite your family or best friends over for dinner too? Well, I definitely do. And I especially love to not only have some tasty and delicious looking food, but also have a beautifully decorated table with wildflowers, colourful placemats, vintage looking cutlery, napkins and plates… and of course some self made place cards (maybe even with a handwritten menu on them)! As cooking and decorating already take a lot of time, the place cards should be quick and easy to do – but still be an eye-catcher. The ones I am sharing with you today are all of that – and also a lot of fun to make!

Let´s have a look on how she made this gorgeous project:

Step 1

Browse your 7Gypsies paper pads to find designs that match your table decoration. Cut out several different sized rectangles that match the size of the mini Kraft Bags. Also cut out one tablespoon from the designer paper for each place card. Play around with the papers, spoons and Architextures Glass Bottles until you are content with the arrangement on each mini bag.

Step 2

Using a glue stick fix the first collage layer to the bags. Combine different sizes and designs. Find the best spots for the fuzzy cut spoons and bottles stickers. Then put the spoons to the side and only stick on the bottles. Using a palette knife scrape on traces of Ivory High Impact Paint. Let dry.

Step 3

Also scrape on some Organic Garden Glimmer Glam and sprinkle on some Vintage Pink Glimmer Mist. Let dry. Scrape on some Fuzzy Coconut Glimmer Glaze around the edges using only the very tip of the palette knife. Let dry.

Step 4

Paint the fussy cut spoons with Times Square Glimmer Glam and heat dry. Use sticky foam pads to fix the spoons to the finished “place card bags”. Insert a little tag (with a welcome wish or the menu on it) with some jute cord into each bag.

Step 5

Use a label maker to add the names to the place “cards”. You’re done!
