Creative Cards inspired by the Yarn Challenge

Our November Challenge is all about Yarn – this is Karla´s thoughts:

“I love using crafty things from my stash that wouldn’t normally go together to create something unique! I’ve chosen some pretty coordinating yarns for this month’s challenge to add a special touch to some cards that will make a friend’s day extra special”.

STEP 1

I started out by making the following cuts: two card bases- 8 1/2 x 5 1/2” (fold in half to make two 4 1/2 x 5 1/2” cards; cut two panels from Mainstreet Diagonals On Ivory Paper – 1 3/4 x 5 3/8”; cut one panel of orange and one panel of yellow cardstock each – 4 1/8 x 5 3/8”; cut a strip of Kraft cardstock 2 1/4 x 5 3/8”. I then added various stitched dies around the edges of each panel.

STEP 2

I diecut scallopped circles from the orange and white cardstock and diecut stitched circles from the Salvage Ephemera Rouge pack. I layered the panels together and glued the paper bag to the diagonal patterned paper and then wrapped some green and white yarn around and popped the striped panel up with foam tape.

STEP 3

I sprayed Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists on my kraft mat and dipped the face of two Wishes tags into the mist. Lastly, I threaded some sparkly textured yarn through the tops of the tags and tucked them into the bags. I used foam tape under the scalloped circles to add dimension to the top of the bag. Now my cards are ready to share with a friend for a special occasion or maybe just to say hello!
