Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas with this adorable gift tag, perfect for holding gift cards or cash! A quick tutorial, this gift wrap utilizes a layering effect and will take you less than 10 minutes, not to mention that one piece of paper, cardstock, and printed canvas will make up to 6 tags!
Glue the Seven Gypsies paper to the cardstock to make the tag sturdy–nobody wants a flimsy tag!
The French Script printed canvas is a great way to add texture and class. It’s a Christmas tag so I wanted to add that signature holiday red. I used Tattered Angels Chalkboard paint, Ruby Slipper. The canvas holds the paint extremely well and the red is so vibrant atop french script.
I followed the pattern of the chevron and cut the sides off of the canvas. This allows for the green paper to peak through once everything is layered together.
I feel like a “mini” anything is just adorable, which is why I added this mini manilla folder to hold the contents of the tag (cash, gift card, photo, etc). I added a little stamp to bring it more character, because I felt like it was too bare without it!
Then I still felt like it was too bare, so I made a bow made from waxed hemp cord!
To hold it all together, punch two holes at the top of the tag, about 1/2″ apart.
Tie all layers together with red waxed cord and that completes the look! Just add a personal note and the recipient will be wowed by the thought that went into this tag!
Is this a tag that you could would make for the holidays?
