DIY Embellished Canvas Planner or Tablet Bag

We adore this trendy tablet cover Jen created.  It is so simple and looks like it would be found in an upscale boutique.  This great little bag is very versatile and is the perfect size to hold many different things.   

Hello everyone, I am Jen and I blog over at Craft-O-maniac. I am thrilled to be on the Canvas Corp Brands blog today and share with you how I took one of their cute tablet, Kindle, or in my case planner cover canvas bags, and then embellished it a bit.

What you Need:

– One Canvas Corp Tablet Case

– Two different acrylic paint colors

– A skinny paint brush

– Wooden beads of some kind (this part is totally optional)

– Metal ring

– Canvas Corp colored hemp rope

To Make: First I free-handed the painted triangles as I wanted it to be a bit trendy and modern. I did not use any fabric medium in the paint, but you most certainly can.

I finished my bag with all the painted triangles, some painted with the points up and some painted with the points down. Very easy. Next I took some vintage wooden beads from my craft stash and with a metal ring tied some jute around it and into a knot.

I then took my beads and threaded them onto the jute. Then I tied a large knot to the bottom of the beads and hooked the metal ring to one of the canvas bag straps. To embellish the zipper pull, I added a small wooden bead and the same string.

Paint the tote to match what you will keep inside or design it anyway you wish.

Here it is, and I love that it fits my Happy Planner and Erin Condren planner perfectly. That said, I think my daughter will adopt it for her tablet. 😉
