We just love our foodie crafts and this recipe book cover Marie created is just spectacular. What a great gift for your favorite chef, baker or food lover. Leave it blank inside as a journal or create pages filled with pockets and folders where recipes can be added. This is also a great idea for a wine pairing journal.
The Canvas Corp Farmhouse Kitchen collection is so great to work with because it will pair up with any color combination you can come up with, like this amazing warm ensemble of reds, yellows and purples that is just stunning. Marie creates a beautiful back ground and paints the art of the Farmhouse Kitchen papers to coordinate making her own kitchen paper collection in essence. Fussy cut the art to make your own printed die cuts and wow you have an amazing journal.
Marie here and today I am showing you a book cover I made using the “Farmhouse Kitchen” line from Canvas Corp. This brand is now available in the online store that I work with here in Sweden, En Liten Butik. I´m so glad that they decided to stock the products since I truly love the papers and products and want everyone else to have the same chance to use them.
Products from Canvas Corp Brands:
Canvas Corp Farmhouse Kitchen “Farmhouse Market on Ivory” 12×12
Canvas Corp Farmhouse Kitchen “Labels Paper”
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist “Lobster”
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist “Fully Purple”
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist “It´s Orange”
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist “Tattered Leahter”
Other items used: paints, water, texture mediums on hand
Color the front of the book with paints, mists and stamps in your color palette. Glimmer Mist works really well with other paints and will react differently depending the paint to give you a variety of looks. You can also add texture mediums to give you crackle, dimension and extra texture.
The Farmhouse Kitchen “Farmhouse Market on Ivory” is filled with amazing kitchen art, you can choose the items you want to paint and fussy cut. The shading in the art makes the watercolor of the Glimmer Mist look amazing. I added cut out pictures from a patterned paper. The union and lemon where colored with Glimmer Mists to add harmony.
I sprayed water on parts of the book to get a softer look. That make the mists blend together.
Choose your favorite’s from Farmhouse Kitchen Labels paper to top off the front of the book. I picked On The Menu and Recipes. These can be painted or left as they are for a nice contrast.
With so many left over pieces from both papers you can make a few Recipe books in different themes and colors that are sure to bring a smile. Great birthday and Christmas gifts that are fun and crafty and oh so personal. Try your favorite mixed media techniques or watch a video to learn something new and this is a great place to practice them. You can cover an outdated journal cover and recycle, purchase a blank journal or make your own. Keep in mind you can give it blank or fill it with fun places to store recipes, favorite wines and foodie photos.
We love to see our product travel around the world!!!!!
