We love that our Crew spans all regions of this amazing world we live in and today we are traveling to the small tropical island of Reunion Island in the Indian Ocean. As part of our spotlight series we have asked each crew member to share a little bit about themselves. Questions that spotlight their creative talents and where the get inspired by. Our crew is spread out across the globe. They provide us and our artistic community with so much creativity on a daily basis. We are excited to bring to life their journey while we share ours….So lets get started and introduce you to Yasmina….

I am French and I live in Reunion Island… a small tropical island in the Indian Ocean (not far from Madagascar on the right). I speak Creole (first language), French and I learned English at school and during my travels…Reunion is an insular region of France. The island has been inhabited since the 17th century, and it is situated east of Madagascar and about 175 kilometres (109 mi) southwest of Mauritius, the nearest island. The local language of this region of the population, is Réunion Creole, but the official language is French. This beautiful region is the current home of our next spotlight artist, Yasmina Tin-Sang, a designer for the Canvas Corp Brands Design Team, aka the “Creative Crew!” Its on this beautiful island that Yasmina creates her beautiful masterpieces. Describe your design style…I discovered scrapbooking in 2009 and I didn’t have any style because I loved it all!! But last year, I find that I’m really in love with mixed media. I love papers, flowers, texture…
Who or what do you give credit to for inspiring your creativity? My children inspire me. They are always on my layouts. When I make a layout, I choose the photo, then the papers, and finally the embellishments.
What inspires you most today? Inspiration is everywhere! I just love trying new techniques, news products (I am addicted to shopping!!!). Sometimes I find inspiration on Pinterest mostly for color scheme.
What is your favorite Canvas Corp Brand Product? and why? (We asked them to pick just one, which has proven to be difficult for some and easy for others.) Only one??? At the moment, my favorite is Chalkboard Mist Decadence. I don’t know why but i use it on every project.
What is your favorite project you have created using CCB Products? I love these three projects because there are all products that I like using at the moment… I think they really represent my scrapbooking style today. Each layout has great style and a modern, vintage tone.
Do you teach and if so tell us a bit about what you teach, where you go and some of your favorite places? At the moment I don’t teach… I am not very comfortable with teaching I am afraid, but I am part of a non-profit organization. Maybe later I’ll slide into teaching.
I am the happiest doing…I feel very happy, cool when I am in my space… It helped me in the difficult moments in 2013 and 2014… I practice “scrap therapy”… and I believe in it!
My favorite place to be creative….In my craft room! When I am here, I don’t see time, I forget children, basically I forget almost everything!! Why? Because I love creating.
Tell us one cool detail about your studio or craft space. It is always messy. I try to clean my craft room every two months its usually not for not a long time. The best part about my creative space is my husband built it for me.
Tell us one thing fun about you we might not know…hahaha… I hate pictures of me!!! I love taking photos, but not with me in them…We love that Yasmina gave us a photo of her beautiful self for this interview….
