This brief was so much fun that it’s becoming a must-have on my Scrapbook pages! I have used a lot of Glimmer Mist and Chalkboard Mist on muslin lately and the thing that impresses me most, apart from the beautiful vibrancy of the colours, is how quickly it dries! I started leaving my misted bits overnight but soon discovered they would dry in under 20 mins if hanging in a warm and airy spot!
For my very first project I wanted to see how the colours came up. I chose a white rag rug from Spotlight to alter and went with a rainbow pattern to test the widest variety of colours. From left to right I have used: Lavender Fields Glimmer Mist, Cornflower Chalkboard Mist & Spring Violet Glimmer Mist, Turquoise Blue & Jack Frost Glimmer Mists, Sprout & Inchworm Chalkboard Mists with a touch of English Ivy Glimmer Mist, Lemon Meringue & Sun Sisters Ltd Ed. Spring 2011 Glimmer Mists, Alaskan Salmon Chalkboard Glimmer Mist, and Burnt Red & Rum Punch Ltd Ed. Spring 2011 Glimmer Mists.
My Second project was a little more daring in technique but used fewer colours. I bought some muslin and tore it into strips to decorate this dress-form that my daughter had discarded. The strips I coloured with Glimmer Mists : Jack Frost, Blue Skies, Denim Blue and Sapphire. Graphite Glimmer Mist was great for the chipboard swirls that I used for wings, and the satin ribbon. The flower I painted with Tutu Pink Glimmer Glam, the satin leaves with Organic Garden Glimmer Glam and then when I was finished I thought she needed just a little more shimmer so I mixed the leftover few drops I had of Old Lace Glimmer Mist and Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist in the one bottle and gave her a topcoat of sparkle.
And some close-ups…She was so much fun to do 🙂
My third project is a layout. I used some Basic Grey fabric swatches and misted them with a combination of the new Chalkboard colours Sprout, Alaskan Salmon, and Grape Ape. I have also used Hayride Glimmer Glam with the Sprout Chalkboard Mist on the Prima leaves although I left the lovely Prima flower au naturel. And just as a matter of interest, when I misted the fabric swatches I did it on a sheet of white Bazzill and then used this as a background for another layout….with fabric…. 🙂
I so love Tattered Angels paints, more and more each time I use them, if you haven’t got some of them all (Mist, Glam and Glaze) you really don’t know what you’re missing (or should that be ‘missting’ lol)!
Have a great day 🙂

You have had good time with the colours Peg,
agree with you on a top coat of glimmer, it just adds to the fun.
Great tip to be reusing your over mists as a background.
