Have you heard……Canvas Corp is having a Banner Contest……who doesn’t love a banner and a contest??!??! (for more details see here)
I wanted to share with you my Banner made from Canvas Corp products!!
I started my design with Canvas Corp Stars and Burlap Tags.
Today, I wanted to share with you an easy technique on how I colored the Stars.
To color the Stars, I used Color Wash and/or Distress Reinker Mixtures.
The TRICK to achieving the yummy colors is to mist the fabric with water. In doing this the colors “wick” up into the fabric creating a BEAUTIFUL effect.
Once the Canvas Star is wet dip, the sides of the stars into puddles of color and watch the color just “wick” into the Canvas Star.

Then dry the Canvas Star with my Heat Tool. While still a bit damp, I ran a Distress Stain around the edge of the Star to finish off the edges.

To soften the colors, I sprayed the Canvas Star with more water and dabbed it off.

Now you have the base of your banner to create on and embellish as you desire!!
There are still a few days left till the end of the Contest, so pull out your supplies and have some fun!!
