Hey everyone. Viktoriya Porechnaya here. Some time ago, my gypsy travels took me to Paris where I visited a very unique place officially called Les Puces de Saint-Ouen, but known to everyone as Les Puces (The Fleas). Located in the north of Paris, a few steps away from the Sacre Coeur Basilica and Moulin Rouge, it covers seven hectares and is the largest antique market in the world. For a fun-filled weekend, it’s one of the best places to go shopping in Paris: antique jewellery, furniture, old books, records and vintage clothes.
Let me share some of the treasures I saw there…
Rue des Rosiers is the main street which you walk down in order to go into the different markets.
The markets tend to run into each other, it is not obvious where some stop and others begin!
Along Rue des Rosiers, there are several interesting shops selling Art Deco furniture, fireplaces, mirrors and other interesting decorative pieces.
Here, you will find everything from rare antiques to books, prints, funky art and vintage clothing.
Prices are not cheap, but the selection is great! You will have plenty to choose from!
You can also find much larger pieces – like this awesome PinBall machine from the 80s.
Or even something as unique as this UFO-inspired house!
And where else in Europe could you find a five billion dollars note?! It’s originally from Zimbabwe, but such a treat!
Make sure that, given a chance, you visit Saint-Ouen; it will be an interesting experience and you might find something absolutely unusual as a souvenir from the city of love.
Thank you for joining me on my gypsy travels!

What a fabulous adventure! I have been to Paris but did not have the opportunity to visit the Moulin Rouge area. Next time, that will be on the agenda!
