Turn your love of mixed media art into a card for that someone special. Dig through your stash of red goodies to see what you might have on hand. With mixed media you can add color with paints, mists and dyes to transform items to coordinate with your project. So don’t be afraid to put a favorite saying or piece in the mix knowing you will transform it to match your color palette. Marie shows us just how to make that work.
Just a card can mean the world to someone! Now when Valentine´s day is getting close, we should think of not just our closest loved ones, but think of someone who might need something that will brighten their day – a small gesture like a card could make someone’s day brighten up and turn from miserable to something so much better! Give one to one of your colleagues, your neighbor, or the man begging outside your local grocery store. Just give – without a second thought!
I made this card by folding a piece of cardstock and then I have decorated it with a leftover piece of a paper from the Farmhouse Christmas collection. (just because it is from a Christmas collection, don’t let that scare you, it works perfect) I have added white gesso, and stamping before I layered small strips of paper from the 7gypsies Ordre Du Jour collection.
The flowers was originally white but Glimmer Mist turned them into something much more interesting. I highlighted the chipboard words with a bit of Glimmer Glaze. Some word stickers, a sweet brass heart from 7gypsies and the important paint splatters finished up my card.
Thank you for your visit – please share who YOU gave a unexpected Valentine´s Card this year!
