Hooray for the Red, White, and Blue with handmade cards

Red, White and Blue can come together in food, fabrics, papers or paint to give us a feeling of patriotism.  They are three colors that look great together and remind us that America is a great place to be, visit and live.  Crew member Cherry Nelson brings together papers, buttons and ribbons in red, white and blue to create this very cool vintage card that brings back patriotic memories of the past and reminds us how important those memories still are today.
4th of july
This card will be making you cheer for the red, white, and blue! Using patriotic papers from Canvas Corp and embellishments from 7gypsies, I made a fun 4th of July greeting card that can be given away or used as a fun table top display. Think outside of the box with embellishments so that at first glance it may not seem holiday themed and will look more unique.
Tools Used
Paper Cutter, Scissors, Hot glue gun
Step 1 – start with a printed cardstock base like the Navy and Ivory 5 Point Star.   All Canvas Corp papers are cardstock and printed on just one side, so they are terrific for making you card base.

Step 2 – cut embellishments from the Freedom Sampler. Canvas Corp samplers are available in many themes and have great art, sayings and icons to add to cards.

Step 3 – raid you stash of red, white and blue, plus vintage clips in rustic metal to embellish your card.  You can die cut the star from white fluted paper to make your own embellishment.

Finish off with a great photo and a touch of silver glitter embellishments and ties of ribbon.  If you create the card 4″x6″ or 5″x7″ you can slip it into a photo frame without the glass and display on your 4th of July buffet table or entry.
Here are a few more great cards Cherry created:
Red & white are also great to support any patriotic designs and they are terrific together anytime.  Love this printed red ticking paper from Canvas Corp as a background for this clear tag card.  We love anything food-themed and the mason jar tags are so perfect slipped in the handmade pocket with 7gypsies mini silverware

This Best Wishes handmade card is perfect in its black and white beauty.  It was created with the Canvas Corp Watering Can Collection and makes a great little birthday handmade treat.
