Since the month of October is breast cancer awareness month, I wanted to share an altered book of “HOPE” with you today. I have several friends and family going through a battle with cancer right now. So many in fact, that it has been hard to stay positive and not feel overwhelmed and fearful for those that I love so much. However, the strength that they show is amazing and truly inspiring. When I think of all they have gone through and are still going through and standing so strong and with so much faith and hope, I am just speechless…
It’s often difficult to express thoughts and feelings when the people you love are having to battle fight for their lives. I created this book as a place to store uplifting thoughts on hope, because in a time that is so emotionally tolling, it’s nice to have an inspiring place to read happy thoughts.
To alter this book I primed it with gesso and then used Tattered Angels “Party Pink” and “antique gold” high impact paint.
I created the title using the Canvas Corp canvas tag, and then I embellished it with the beautiful 7 gypsies jeweled gears and petaloo flowers.
I understand we all handle things differently, and for some of us, writing and journaling is a way to express our inner thoughts when there’s nothing to be said. If anything, I can only hope that his post can help spread the awareness and desire to donate to the cure. To all those courageous individuals fighting cancer out there, you are a true hero and you are in my thoughts and prayers.
