Wood needn’t be lathered in thick coats of paint; it so ruins the grain and appeal. Using the wonders of glimmer mist and a paint brush can achieve a stained effect at the fraction of the cost of thinned paint and expensive varnishes. What’s more, you can intensify the colour by adding further coats with practically no indication of the bottle running out. I gave this box two coats of Forest Green and the bottle looks as full as when I was given it in my DT kit!
I also washed the book paper on the lid, the tag in the glass box and the monogram with Glimmer Glam Golden Goddess to give this trinket box the appearance of a true treasure trove. I believe a good base for all your embellishments truly does give the impression of serious thought and without the use of my beloved angelic products, this box would not have had the the bling factor had I used simple paints.
This box of hope is a gift that I truly do not want to part with plus Im taking it all the way to CHA next week from England. Wish me luck!

Kirsty, this is beautiful. I love how the wood grain really comes alive with the color wash. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful piece.
