Junk Journal 7gypsies Style – Win Exclusive Swag and Handmade Junk Journal!

you can win A 7gypsies handmade junk journal
ALong with some creativation 2018 swag!

If you were not able to attend the Creativation Show in Phoenix, Arizona this past January, well, we are bringing the show to you with a chance to win Exclusive Swag, custom designed Vintage Junk Journal from Candy Rosenberg along with the journal she used to create it.  You can play in one and create another.  How cool would that be?  If you are not familiar with Creativations, it is the largest wholesale craft show in the USA.  The aisles are lined with a wide range of suppliers who are the creative minds behind the products you love.  It is not a show you can buy goods at each booth, it is a show where manufacturers, designers, and companies show off their newest creative items.  It is generally held in January every year and it is a great way to kick off the new year.

Junk Journal 7gypsies Style - Win Exclusive Swag and Handmade Junk Journal architextures giveaway

Are you familiar with the term Junk Journal? Well, a True Junk Journal can be made from just about anything – no rules.  This one is made from bits and pieces from the Canvas Corp Brands booth and the creative table that was hosted by the Crew for customers and designers to try out the newest Canvas Corp, Tattered Angels, and 7gypsies products.  Junk Journals are so fun to work with just what you have on hand.  This blank art journal is ready for you to make your mark on it!

Here is how she created this junk journal with bits of pieces that were “stolen” from the booth at the show.  It is hard to list some of the items used because they were exclusive to the show, so this is your chance to not only win this journal but a few of the products that are not available for sale ANYWHERE!

Once the printed cardboard adheres, add strips of washi tape across the two pieces to create the binding.

Add strips of long pieces of washi the length of the cardboard to cover the binding pieces and make it more uniform.

Using the leftover packaging that had a board image, I created the background pieces for the front.  Stamped and stenciled words and title on vintage book pages.  Used the Architextures keys to make it look like it was holding the sign.  I adhered the paintbrush to the top and added modeling paste coming off the right to make it look like it was painting across the page.

Once the modeling paste dried, I swiped a bit of Organic Garden Glimmer Glam to give it a paint color.

Finally, the crowning piece.  The exclusive swag piece from the Creativation show, the 7gypsies Truck!  I love this piece and it really completes the look of the journal!

The best part about it creating it from what you’ve got around you and getting messy whilst doing the work of art! Traveling the past 3 weeks I’ve been able to hold on to many little mementos that will fall right into place on a junk journal. The paint brush and truck will be the perfect touch to finish off my journey. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity!
