Lucky St. Patrick’s Day Wreath

The red and pink of Valentine’s Day is ready to be packed away and it is time to take out a little bit of green and jazz things up.  If you are ready for something new, here is a lucky wreath that is fun and easy to make and perfect for the front door, a St. Paddy’s mantel or part of the wall decor.  Alison shows us how to mix and match greens in paper and fabric and turn them into St. Patrick’s Day flowers that fill the wreath, so if you are looking to cheer up your home for St. Paddy’s Day? Today we share a St. Patrick’s Day wreath that is sure to do the job.

To make this fun craft, start with a straw wreath that you can buy at any local craft store. First, wrap the entire wreath with a burlap ribbon and secured it with pins. Next, use Canvas Corp Avocado, Linen and Ivory Burlap Fringe to wrap sections of color onto the wreath. You can use twine as well to give some extra texture.

Also, you can make paper flowers using Lime Green & White Dot and Green & Ivory Ribbon Stripe papers. If you don’t own a Sizzix, there are several floral templates online or you can use the many Burlap Flowers that Canvas Corp has to offer. Using the Lime Green canvas, cut out clover leaves and sew a wooden button on as the base.

To make the banner use the Green Burlap to cut out 5 small triangles. Next, glue on the alphabet letters and twine to the triangles. Finally,  arrange and glue the flowers to the wreath and attach the banner to green Bakers twine with mini clothespins. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
