Mr and Mrs Wedding Album

We enter this week with more creative wedding ideas, this time with a more vintage twist as we spend a little time with the 7gypsies Harmony collection, a beautiful neutral wedding paper line.
We love to share creative ideas to make your own wedding albums and guest book and when Netra shared her Mr & Mrs Wedding Album with us we just had to share.  Netra combines the simplicity of the Canvas Corp Papers and Printed Fabric with the vintage wedding feel of the 7gypsies Harmony Collection and the combination is magic.

DeNetra shares with us her technique for making a handmade canvas binder album, choosing soft neutral items from the Harmony Collection and Canvas Corp. The Harmony 6×6 paper pad makes it easy to create a simple album and each of the papers are ready for signatures, notes from guests, pictures and journaling.
Tools Used:  Sewing Machine for the canvas binding,  Glue gun, Paper trimmer, Hole punch, Glue
This project started out with an idea to use a small piece of canvas and this super cute wedding album came to left.   A piece as little as 6.5″ x 6″ is all you need to make the book.  file-3
To make the binding:
Step 1: Hem you canvas piece all the way around.   You can choose any fabric piece, but a heavier quality canvas will give your book a nice spine that holds it all together.  (see measurement guide below)

Step 2: Fold over the remaining piece or a piece of canvas when folded and sew together (see measurement guide below).  Place in the center of your larger piece as shown and sew into place, you will want to mark where you binding rings will go and sew two channels for them to flip into and hold you papers into the book.

Step 3:  Slip the binding rings into the two channels.

Here is a guide to the measurements you will want to use:

Step 4:  Now use the hem you created on your canvas binding as a guideline to glue your covers inplace. Cover your book covers in your Canvas Corp Printed Paper of choice, the heavy weight makes it great for making books and book pages.

Step 6:  Choose your favorite 6×6 papers and punch them to fit into the book.  You can use the papers from the 7gypsies Harmony paper pad or a selection of Canvas Corp Printed Papers or a combination to make your book.  Remember that 7gypsies papers are two sided and the Canvas Corp Papers are one sided so you may want to glue pages together or add guest signature lines to the back of the canvas papers.
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERANow your basic book is complete and you are ready to turn it into your wedding album, guest book, honeymoon travel journal or you custom agenda or personal journal.  The rings allow you to add and remove pages as you add to your album.

To create the front of your book create an ensemble of paper flowers using printed 7gypsies papers, Canvas Corp Tissuestock and Canvas Corp Kraft & Silver paper.  The neutral choices are perfect for the front of the book.

Fill the pages of your book as show here, the pages from the 7gypsies 6×6 Harmony pack were selected.

The book is complete and ready to show off pictures, cards, journal entries, guest signatures from the wedding.  What a terrific gift for the engagement party that can serve to collect all the amazing memories along the wedding journey.

Netra’s clever binding and combination of papers comes together so beautifully.  We hope this inspires you to make your own wedding album or guest book or find someone who will do it for you :-).
