This cute little stamp was a perfect companion to the Canvas Corp Bean’s and Bags Collection and brings out a fun and whimsicle style out of the vintage coffee and tea art that we love.  You can stamp the art on white and color it in or you can stamp on kraft, both look terrific.

Love You A Latte Stamp

Hello, coffee lovers! I have a cute little card here to share with you that I had so much fun creating. Sometimes my husband likes to surprise me and throw a stamp set in our Amazon order. He did just that with this Lawn Fawn “Love You A Latte” stamp set. I knew immediately that it would pair up perfectly with Canvas Corp’s Beans and Bags papers! I had a few scraps of these papers in my stash, and creating cards is a perfect way to use up those scraps. You really don’t need very big pieces of paper when creating a card, especially if you add layers. Below is a list of supplies I used to create this card.

SUPPLIES:

1- The first thing I did was stamp out all my little pieces from Lawn Fawn’s stamp set. I had so much fun with this since they are such cute images. After they were stamped, I colored them in with my colored pencils and then ran them through my Sizzix with their coordinating dies to cut them out. You don’t need the dies, you can fussy cut them by hand, but since I had the dies I went ahead and used them. After they were cut, I set them aside to work on my layering pieces.

2- I went through my {overflowing} scrap bin and pulled out the papers I wanted to use. I knew I wanted the large print of the “Fill the Cup” paper for the background, so I measured and cut that first. Then, I found a scrap of burlap that fit perfectly behind a strip of plain kraft cardstock. I also cut a square of white cardstock to layer behind the “Fill the Cup” paper. One thing I have learned in cardmaking is layer, layer, layer! Layers just add more dimension and interest to the front of a card.

3 – I wanted to add a smaller print to the strip of kraft cardstock that was going over the burlap, so I took the little coffee bean stamp and just stamped it randomly over the whole surface using my Gathered Twigs Distress Ink. Here’s a tip on mixing patterns: it looks nice if you can vary the size of your patterns. For example, the “Fill the Cup” paper in the background is a very large pattern, so I knew I wanted a small pattern to go with it. I created that small pattern myself with my stamp. If you look closely at my card, you will notice that there is a solid, a large pattern, and a small pattern. The burlap and the E-Flute are not exactly patterns, but they do add some lovely texture. Can’t go wrong with that combo!

4 – I inked the edges of the white cardstock that was going behind the large cup pattern background with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink, and then I started to glue together all my layers. Once I had all my layers glued down, I die cut a circle by running the E-Flute through my Sizzix. I just want to say that even though the E-Flute feels quite thick, it die cuts beautifully! No issues running it through the Sizzix at all!

5- Once I had my little circle die cut, I glued it down over my coffee bean stamped strip, and then glued my little Lawn Fawn stamped images on top of it. I fussy-cut the sentiment then attached it with a little square of foam adhesive. For a fun final touch, I added just a bit of Stickles to the heart on the coffee to-go cup. We crafters love our sparkle!

That finished the card! I love the neutral tones with just a pop of red from the heart. The sentiment is so versatile that it can be used for many different occasions. I had so much fun with this card that I used a few more scraps to make a “bonus” little gift card holder.

I used Canvas Corp’s White Mini Paper Bag and most of the supplies listed above for this little gift card holder. Wouldn’t you just be tickled to receive a gift card to your favorite cafe, bistro, or coffee place in this paper bag? I know I would!
