Product Match Up: Tim Holtz Fresh Brewed Die and Tea Time Die and Canvas Corp Beans and Bags

Kathy was so excited to hear about our new Beans & Bags Collection and was so ready to match it up with the Tim Holtz Fresh Brewed and  Tea Time Dies by Sizzix.  Tim’s trendy take on the traditional coffee and tea cups is a perfect companion to the new Canvas Corp Bean’s and Bags Collection and Kathy shows us how well they work together.  

Kathy says it all on her blog where she features this amazing Coffee Lover’s Birthday Crate that is filled with lots of coffee goodness.  “Let’s face it: coffee makes the world go ’round!  We drink it morning, noon and night!  We stand in line for it, can’t begin our day without it, and that first sip in the morning is the fuel in our tank that gets us through the day.  So what could be more fun than turning a mini crate into a container filled to the brim with coffee themed tags, envelopes and recipes for your favorite girlfriend? ” says Kathy.

Kathy walks you through the crate step by step on her blog Kathy by Design where she shows off all the paper goodness.  Here is a sneak peek at just what you will see.

We love the vintage spoon she attaches to the front with real coffee beans, we bet they smell AMAZING!!!  The Fresh Brewed cut adorns the front of the crate with the white c-flute paper filling in as the coffee cup wrap.

You can decorate the inside and the outside of these little wooden crates which are available in 2 sizes – ATC size and 4×6 which is perfect for photos and recipe cards.  

This little crate measures a bit over 4″ across, so you can add 4″x6″ items vertically and they add great dimension to your crate.

Canvas Corp Brands has lots of ATC sized items to fit right into the crate like this kraft mini bags, file folders, ATC cards, small envelopes, tags and 4″x6″ items that slip in vertically.

Kathy has some great ideas for adding surprises to your crate:  “How about an individually wrapped chocolate, and a Gypsy Moments Birthday tag?  Nothing goes better with coffee than chocolate, and you can write your own birthday greetings on the tag…and even tuck in a Starbuck’s gift card!”

Nothing is more precious than sharing a recipe and sharing one in our own handwriting, like this recipe for Kathy’s favorite Sour Cream Coffee cake.  She even suggests baking one and including it as part of the gift!  The recipe cards are simple and can be altered to match any theme or design, they are also blank on the back so you can decorate them or keep writing your recipe.  

Slipping in a cup from the Tea Time dies fits perfectly on the page and use the slit to add altered flowers.

The book cover featuring “The Perks of Having Good Friends” from the Gypsy Moments “A Novel Thought” 12×12 papers is a great little touch in the crate.  

You can fussy cut the images from the Beans & Bags collection and add them to the bags, tags, cards and recipe cards in the crate.  Ink or mist them to make them look nice and vintage.

We love the added touch of fabric, jute and stitching the 7gypsies papers in place adding a great touch to the crate.

Choosing one or more sayings from the various 7gypsies collections to add to your crate is a great way to share fun and quirky little sayings and special things.  The pictures are a lot of fun too.

The combination of 7gypsies, Canvas Corp, Tattered Angels, these great dies and goodies from Kathy’s stash came together beautifully in this project with one tag, card or recipe card after the other looking like they just belong together.  

The Farmhouse Bake and Can Recipe Cards  have great space to jot down a recipe, maybe the way to make your favorite latte or a special little note.  

Now it is time to start looking for a few vintage goodies like an old spoon, vintage buttons and many even some old coffee labels to add to your crate.  Decide your color palette and create fun pieces that all fit together in your crate, making them a great birthday, Christmas, get well or friend gift when someone needs a little smile.  A little coffee and a lot of smile!!!!
