The Damask Guest Book

The Bon Voyage Collection minus the travel themed papers look terrific together in this amazing guest book that Irit created.  Such a clever idea to capture guest names at a wedding, anniversary party or fun event.  Irit shows us how it is done step by step.

Here is what you will need:

• Canvas Corp Printed Burlap – Damask
• Canvas Corp Black and Ivory Damask
• Canvas Corp Black and Kraft Damask
• Canvas Corp Red and Ivory Damask
• Canvas Corp Black and Ivory French Script
• Canvas Corp Burlap – Ivory
• Canvas Corp Kraft cardstock
• Canvas Corp Jute Twisted Rope
• White chipboard- recycled
• Alpha stickers- American Crafts
• Metal trinket- unknown
• Bling- Paper Studio
• Velcro closure

Tools Used:  Paper Cutter; Thank you die- Heidi Swapp; Scalloped dies- Cherry Lynn Designs; Rectangle dies- Cherry Lynn Designs; Inks- Clearsnap

Step 1: Fold a chipboard piece using the measurements written over the photos and using your paper trimmer.

Step 2:  Fold the purse shaped cover as shown

Step 3: Cover the outside ofr the cover with Black & Ivory French Script on white cardstock.  The heavy weight of the chipboard and the cardstock combined make the “purse” nice and sturdy.  Mix and match the papers to create a fantastic, eclectic look, the vintage design looks good in a mix and match fashion.

Step 4: Cover the inside part with Red & Ivory and Black & Ivory Damask papers over white chipboard.

Step 5:  To finish the inside of the guest book, die cut two scalloped pieces of Kraft & Black and Red & Ivory Damask papers and arrange them on the inside part of the cover as shown. Die cut ” Thank you” title and glue it over the scalloped die cuts.

Step 6:  Create  a self-made Kraft Cardstock Notebook by cutting 10-12 sheets of cardstock the same size and to finish the note pad, cover the top with Printed Burlap – Damask and glue into place – this can be flipped to add signatures and notes from the party guests.

To finish off the book, ink all inside and outside edges with red ink.

 Step 7: Die cut a Kraft & Black Damask frame and glue it on the French Script front cover. Add a pleated piece piece of white burlap and glue into place.  Then add the date of the wedding or event.

Step 8: Die cut the medallion shape from Red & Ivory Damask cardstock. Cut in half and glue over red cardstock to create the top embellishment piece. Add a string of clear rhinestones around the front cover and a closure trinket on the top as shown.  Finish by adding the twisted cord to create the handle.

Fold up the book into a “purse” and then open up on the guest book table for with a beautiful pen and capture notes, sayings and signatures from all the guests and then fold it back up and present to the bride and groom.

You can create this same project in sweet little girl papers to create a special note book for a little one or in fun papers as a teacher gift.
