Have you joined the planner world yet? Right now, planners are so popular because they can become anything you need them to be. They are used for serious planning and tracking of appointments, but they are also a wonderful creative outlet that can be combined with memory keeping and journaling. Some even have turned to planning to replace their scrapbooks! Marie Nicole is sharing a page from her planner with us today. She combined a few of our papers with her Happy Planner to create a space to record memories from the day and a few special photos. Read on for some simple, easy ideas that you can use to add some Canvas Corp to your planner, as well!
I have been using a planner for memory keeping for the past year and have absolutely loved it! I just finished my first planner and started a new one. This year I am creating in a Happy Planner. I mainly use my planner for journaling and memory keeping. With having two little ones, I find my scrapbooking time is quite limited, so this is a quick way for me to record special memories combined with some creativity. Starting a new planner is exciting to me, because I have so much blank space to create on! I also look forward to filling the pages with precious photos and memories. For my new planner, I am starting with this Happy Planner. My previous planner was a Heidi Swapp planner, and although I loved it, I wanted a little bit of a larger format to give me more creative space.
Since planning for me is all about recording memories, I always like to begin with choosing the photos I want to highlight. I pick several of my favorites, print them off in the size I want (here my photos are 2×2), and then I choose the papers and colors I want to build a page with. I am using CANVAS CORP’S KRAFT PAPER here along with their BLUE AND IVORY MINI DOT REVERSE paper. After choosing my papers, I simply cut them down to fit inside the areas of my pages. Then, I embellished the papers using some of the Happy Planner stickers that I have, some washi tape, stamps and ink, and a few snips of ribbon. I find that keeping my crafting simple not only allows me to finish a project quickly, but it also takes the stress out of wondering if it all coordinates together.
I have also added some IVORY CARDSTOCK from Canvas Corp to a few areas in my planner. I like to have plenty of blank space to journal in, so adding some blank Ivory Cardstock here and there allows me to decorate but also have some fun little journaling areas. I also love Canvas Corp’s cardstock for stamping and coloring on. Its the perfect weight for cards, journaling cards, and all my creative needs!
I hope you have enjoyed a peek into my new planner and gained some ideas and inspiration for your own memory keeping! The Canvas Corp Brands store is full of fun papers, ephemera, and even some Tattered Angels paints that would look fabulous on your planner!
