Valentine Tree Topper and Heart Garlands

Charity here from Scrappin’ Chaos with a snips and scraps project for Valentines.

This lovely pink tree was the height of need for my daughter one Christmas. That was a few years ago and it’s been spending time alone and deprived ever since. This year, I added gold ribbon, acrylic dangles, and hearts from Canvas Corp Brands paper. The tree is now a lady who has a new holiday to celebrate AND a new lease on life.

She looks Fabulous Dahling!
Supplies:
Canvas Corp Cardstock – Red and Ivory Ribbon Stripe
Canvas Corp Cardstock – Black and Ivory Fleur De Lis Rev
Canvas Corp Cardstock – Black and Kraft Damask
Canvas Corp Cardstock – Black and Kraft Fleur De Lis
Tattered Angels High Impact Metallic Paint – LightGold
Gold Braid DMC

Valentine’s Tree Directions

 

Step 1: Cut or Punch 3 identical hearts about 3” across. Mark a vertical line 1/4 from the edge on either side of the hearts.

Step 2: Fold back along the lines. Apply glue to the marked off portion, left side only of each heart.

Step 3: Arrange the 3 hearts in an open shape with the marked off portions together. Leave glue to dry.
 Step 4: Paint edges of hearts with Tattered Angels High Impact Paint in Light Gold. Leave paint to dry.
Step 5: Punch 1” hearts from scraps of paper. Use a mix of kraft and colored paper for variety.
Step 6: Pierce 2 vertical holes, 1/4” apart in each heart.
Step 7: String hearts 2” apart onto gold braid. Tie a loop at either end.
The loop makes it easy to attach the strings of hearts to the tree.

 Step 8: String tree with Heart Garlands. Place tree topper.

This adorable tree celebrates Love Day on little more than a sheet of 12 x 12 paper. Try it out with butterflies and flowers for Spring!
