Today is our final day to explore of Vintage Varsity Collection and the projects have been so fun. We hope that we have inspired you to take another look at the hundreds of sports photos of your children we know you have and are inspired to create something special with them. Monica rounds out the week with this great printers tray. A perfect DIY craft to hang up for all to see.
Hi everyone! Monica here sharing an altered printers tray using the masculine patterned papers from
Vintage Varsity collection. I have had my sons varsity football pictures packed away in a box for the longest time. I just didn’t have the biggest desire to do anything with them but, when I saw the Vintage Varsity papers I finally had the desire. I started with the
7gypsies Artist Printers Tray: Black which has 12 ATC size spots that are ready to be filled with photos, ephemera, papers and embellishments. Beacon’s Zip Dry was the perfect glue to choose for this project and adhering paper to wood perfectly.
So I took one of the sheets and used it as the backdrop for the printers tray and then fussy cut several of the images from the other papers and place them in different places. The basketball themed
Net Paper has the look and feel of a vintage basketball or football and is a great background. Distress edges with Tattered Angels Paints.
I took the Hemp Rope in Natural and used it to wrap around the outer frame as added decor and then added a piece of the Twisted Rope in Natural/White and laid it along the right edge of the frame.
Along the top right edge I fussy cut what was a shoe from one of the Vintage Varsity sheets and punched holes and used a piece of Waxed Cotton Cord White as actual shoe laces. I also, added the Studs: Pyramid (12 pieces) on the tray dividers.
Now I just added some of my favorite photos and cried as I realized my baby was no longer a baby! Wallet size, fussy cut photos or cropped photos will fit into the individual spots in the tray. Add the Apothecary Labels: Chemistry Numbers to show off the jersey number, ranking or that they are No. 1 in your book and add touches of Jacobean Mini Clothespins throughout the tray.
The layers of vintage sports art, memorabilia and modern sports photos just work together so well with this collection. We hope you have enjoyed the week of sports memories and if this tray does not get the photos out of the drawers we are not sure what will!!!
