Vintage America: Arkansas

Hello all!! We are taking a little break from the usual blog posts about craft tutorials and awesome new products, hope you don’t mind. You have all seen some of the swoon-worthy stuff in the 7 Gypsies line of papers and inks and bits and bobs, so you know they lend themselves well to creating beautiful things with a vintage flair. I love to take it a step further and search for DIY project inspiration and supplies in junk shops to go with the packaged items.

We know there are 7 Gypsies fans across the country (and around the world!!) so we thought you might enjoy a few suggestions of places you should visit if you enjoy spending a few hours wandering the aisles of antique malls and flea markets as well.

There is no way to create a comprehensive list that includes all the cool places in every state, so we are kicking it off with a few each week, and we hope you will add your favorites in the comments section. Since we are in Arkansas, we’re showing off our home state this week – so here we go!

Daisies & Olives – Prairie Grove
This store is the cornerstone of what has become a street full of awesome junk, vintage and antique shopping in Prairie Grove. Summit Hill Cottage Shoppe is across the street and features cottage chic items, Southern Mercantile is just down the block, but Daisies & Olives has everything: from repainted wood furniture to linens to locally made candles and edibles. Spend the day in town and have dinner at Gabriela’s.Dasies and Olives

Arkansas Peddlers – Greenbriar
Beebe is just north and East of Little Rock, and rumor has it that it has a growing vintage and antique mall presence. The Junk House on Main Street is another must-visit when you’re in town.

Arkansas Peddlers

Cellar Door Antiques – Springdale
Joy, the owner of Cellar Door Antiques, enjoys selling her items to people who love them almost as much as she enjoys finding them. Her prices are the best in the area, and she will be happy to add your must-haves to her wish list for her next picking trip.

Midtown Eclectic Mall – Springdale
If you are looking for it, you’ll likely find it at Midtown. The ladies who run this business are no-nonsense and keep their vendors on their toes to make sure booths look great and are always full of great stuff. They sell new items, consignment, and some boutique clothing as well as vintage and antiques. Something for everyone.

Remember When Antique Mall – Fort Smith
Booth after booth of old stuff, repurposed stuff, odd stuff, and awesome stuff. You may need to carry a water bottle with you to stay hydrated because you will be there a while. (For good reason!)

Remember When

So, there you go – some (but by no means ALL) of the great places to find vintage and antiques and junk in our home state. We will be sharing links to businesses in other states in coming months – if you have any suggestions, please send them to me at JunqueRethunque@gmail.com. And if you know of others in Arkansas that you love, share them in the comments section!

If you are in the Springdale area stop by the Canvas Corp Brands Outlet – featuring new and vintage products from 7gypsies, Tattered Angels, Canvas Corp, Around the Block and Chatterbox.  You can also shop online if you cannot find the vintage and DIY craft supplies in our local area, Shop online.

Happy Making!!

I can’t wait to explore the vintage shops in Northwest Arkansas. I, too, love all the shops along HWY-a little too much, probably!
