Vintage Tag Featuring 7Gypsies Parchment Rub-Ons!

Our new Architextures Rub-Ons from 7gypsies has been creating quite a buzz with how easy to use they are! Usually, with rub-ons, you will find that they can be hard to apply and won’t stay put very well. Our rub-ons are incredibly easy to apply – you can even use your fingers to rub them on! They’ve also been used on a variety of surfaces from wood, paper, metal, and fabric.

Kimberly is showing us today how she created this chic canvas banner using these vintage art rub-ons from 7gypsies and a canvas sheet from Canvas Corp!

Hello, it’s Kimberly here today to share the new Architextures Rub-Ons. Oh my word they’re so pretty! Okay, so I’ve never been a fan of rub-ons at all. Let me tell you why: I could never make them work for me and look good, so I was reluctant to even try. The first thing I did with these 7Gpysies rub-ons was cut some out that I knew I wouldn’t use and then tried them on different textures. First I tried paper and it looked fabulous! Then, I tried a blank canvas sheet and that looked really faded. Then, I tried a blank piece of wood. I was thrilled with its out come!  Next, I tried to paint some Tattered Angels Decor & DIY paint onto canvas and fell in love with the out come. Long story short, I am shocked and in love with the 7g Architextures parchment RubOns !
You really need to get some and try them. They are gorgeous!

STEP 1

Take your sheet of canvas and cut out a tag. Then, pull some stings to make it look old and worn. Then, take some Tattered Angels paint, and using a spatula, smear it onto the tag leaving some of the canvas showing. Let dry.

STEP 2

Take your package of Rub-Ons and pick the one you would like to add to your tag. Carefully cutting it out, place the darkest inked side down and rub it onto your dried painted canvas tag using a Popsicle stick. Remember, it’s not going to look perfect, these RubOns are meant to look like your project is aged and has been around, if know what I mean.

STEP 3

So now, take out some of your stash and decorate your tag. Be sure to punch a hole if you’re using it for a tag and don’t cover the hole up! You could save it as is for a cover top of a box or another project to add to later. I do this frequently- make a project then add it to something later.

We love this sassy tag that Kimberly created! Also love the tip about creating and then using those creations later on another project. Kimberly used this tag to adorn a canvas banner that turned out to be a fun piece of wall art!

All those layers of canvas, burlap, ruffled fabric, and embellishments look fabulous with that 7Gypsies rub-on girl! Thanks to Kimberly for showing us how easy these rub-ons are to use! We have a variety of different themed rub-ons in store, and the parchment paper they come on works fabulously as crafting paper, as well!
