Creating a handmade guest book for a wedding, shower or anniversary party is a perfect way to greet your guests and a great way to set the tone for your special occasion. Just a small part, but a keepsake you will have to remember the event for years to come. Create one that is just for notes and signatures or leave room to add photos, words to live by and fun comments from the guests. Sheila shares this amazing book that features the Canvas Corp DIY Wedding and coordinating basic papers. Adding fun pockets, details and unexpected nooks and crannies turns your guest book into a wedding keepsake.
WEDDING GUEST BOOK
Summer and wedding season is fast approaching. Are you or a special loved one getting married? If so, you still have time to create a special keepsake filled with memories of their special day.
I decorated the 8.5×11 Canvas Portfolio (also available in 5×7 and 12×12) using Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and High Impact Paints. I then add some burlap, DIY Wedding Paper, vintage lace and millinary to complete.
Then I layered papers, file folders and envelopes. Next I folded the papers in half to create a guide to sew down. Holding the papers with paperclips, I then sewed down the crease to bind the pages together.
Then I combined DIY Wedding papers, burlap, fluted black and kraft paper, and vintage lace, buttons and old ledger paper.
I love the creams, whites, blacks and kraft colors that make up this line.
The guests can sign the pages, but they can also write personal messages and tuck into the bags and envelopes throughout this book. There are also pockets to put photos of your guests at the wedding that can be added after they are developed. If you have a photo booth at the wedding, this great book has spots for every one of those photos.
Special photos could be added to make it truly a special keepsake that will hold many wonderful memories. The various layers all are designed to be written upon, you might encourage a few guests where to write or show your guest book attendant all the great places there are to sign the book so you have special messages throughout the book for the bride & groom.
Once you complete decorating the pages, then punch a hole through the top and bottom of the pages and of the canvas portfolio.
Then bind the book by running the waxed cotton cord through the pages and then the book spine.
To secure it in place.
