Whether you live by the sea or dream of the sea, we can all agree… There’s really no better place! Here, Marie shows us how to make a beautiful handmade card that represents the color, the feel and the freedom of the sea. Using Canvas Corp 12×12 Printed Card Stock and 7gypsies Maritime Collection, she creates a card that is truly praise worthy.
Hi, Marie here and I have lived by the Sea all my life and could never dream of doing anything but that! I’m just addicted to it you can say. This card represent that! If anyone wants to hang with me – come to the sea!
Products from Canvas Corp Brands:
Canvas Home Basics Navy & Craft Chevron
Canvas Home Basics Navy & Craft Mini Dot Reverse
Canvas Home Basics Navy & Ivory 5 Point Star
7gypsies Maritime Voilier Paper
Tattered Angels High Impact Paint Navy Blue
Tattered Angels High Impact Metallic Paint
Other: a few sea themed embellishments of your choosing!
To create this card, I used a card base and pattered papers from Canvas Home Basics. The stars and chevron pattern was cut from Navy & Ivory 5 Point Star as well as Navy & Kraft Mini Dot Reverse.
To create the front of the card, I simply cut a piece of the Mini Dot Reverse to fit the front of my card and then glued it down. I then fussy cut stars out of the Point Star and small pieces of chevron from the Chevron and set them aside.
Then, I cut out a shape from some sea themed paper that I had – the Voiler paper is a great alternative – and a fun sea themed phrase and set it aside.
I then painted the charms from 7 Gypsies are with High Impact Metallic Paint.
I think arranged the cutouts, the charms and some other fun embellishments I had to the front of the card and glued everything down.To finish of the card I added chipboard, a piece of twine and a couple of stickers. The chipboard circle was painted with High Impact paints.
Hope you enjoyed my little nautical card today.
Beautiful card Marie! We are in love with it over here at the home office. We love the rich color, pattern and layering that you incorporated into this masterpiece!
