As you know, the Tattered Angels DT is creating on metal all this month. So rather than purchasing new items for my projects, I went around my house and looked for metal objects I could alter.
First, I found a sheet of tin foil in my kitchen cabinet. I ran this through my embossing machine and painted it with Tide Pool glimmer glam and Waterfall glaze. I then turned this embossed and painted metal into a greeting card. Don’t you love the shine of blue against the silver metal?
I used the new chalkboard mist in Alaskan Salmon on the chipboard scallop oval.
Next, I found this neat little tin of chocolates. I promptly ate up all the chocolate so I could alter the tin. 😉
I decided I would go for a grungy messy look on the tin, allowing bits of the original tin to show through the first coat glimmer glaze in Oil Slick and Cowboy. I then streaked on glimmer glam in Sugar Cane and glimmer glaze in Peach Bellini, allowing the streaks to flow down the length of the tin case in an unfinished fashion.
To complete the altered tin, I added a chipboard scallop circle which I misted with chalkboard mist in Decadence and Sprout, and also a length of seam binding which was dyed with glimmer mist in various shades of green.
For my final project, I decided to create a tag using a metal flower and butterfly trinket I found in my little box of findings.
I first misted the manila tag using the new chalkboard mists in Alaskan Salmon, Sprout and Decadence.
I painted the flower and the brad with glimmer glaze in Flirty and Sugar Cane, and the butterfly in Orange Crush.
So if you have some metal objects lying around your home, give them a new lease of life with your Tattered Angels mediums. 🙂
Have fun misting!
