Why is the adult coloring craze so big? For many reasons, it is relaxing, it brings out the creativity in all of us and it is just plan fun. If you are into adult coloring books you probably have filled them up with colorful pictures and beautiful art, so why not color outside of the book and create something beautiful.
Kimberly started this project with one sheet of the new Tattered Angels Mixed Media Origins papers. Each one has beautiful art that is made for being colored in. Twelve different themes with lots of details and fun places to add color and you personal touch.
The paper is two-sided, so you can choose the side you love the most or cut up the elements and make your own paper or project. This heavy duty paper will stand up to you favorite water media colors including markers, watercolor paint, mist paint, acrylic paint and more. It has special properties that make it the perfect choice for your adult coloring needs. To see the entire collection visit the shop – Mixed Media Origins Paper.
Hello, this is Kimberly here today to share my mixed media book box, I love, love the new Mixed Media Origins Paper. You can color it with so many different techniques, today I was crafting on the go, so I grabbed my stash of Copic Markers and the Flight paper and heading our to spend the day at the medical center. I love to take my crafts with me when I can, you know how that can be sitting there all day waiting to get tests done, so I created while playing the waiting game all day.
While my love one was in getting tests run, I colored my pages, it was so fun time flew right by. This paper is AMAZING, you must get a sheet or two and see for yourself it’s so durable and fun.
Hope you like my project and inspires you to get your hands on a piece to try for yourself. One confession I have to tell you is I’m horrible at coloring. I’m not telling a fib this paper makes it so simple and looks like you have colored all your life like a pro!
Materials Used
- Old Book
- Tattered Angels Mixed Media Origins – Flight
- Tattered Angels High Impact paint-Kraft
- Canvas Corp Flute – Kraft
- Canvas Corp Jute rope
- Copic markers
- Mod Podge
- Tape
- Tools Used; scissors paint brush
Step 1: Color in the mixed media origins paper with a variety of copic markers. You can also your favorite markers, watercolor paint or paint on Glimmer Mist with a brush or mix it up, Adult Coloring With A Brush. This is the part I did during my wait time.
Step 2: Fussy cut the art you colored from the page with scissors and then layer it onto the flute paper using Mod Podge (or Clear Glimmer Glam is another option) to decorate the front of your book. You can cover a found book, a new journal you can make look old or maybe a 3-ring binder that needs a fun cover. If the front of the old book is interesting, leave some of it showing.
Step 3: Back at the studio, attached to the layered fluted paper to the book using Mod Podge or your favorite glue. Accent with jute cord, ribbon, buttons or other little trinkets that look great with your artwork. If you decorated the front of an old book, you have a great piece to display or open the book and begin to decorate the pages to create an altered journal. If you book is blank on the inside, it is the perfect journal, agenda or pages for your doodling.
