Angel mini gift box with Mixed Media Origins

Tattered Angels Mixed Media Origins papers come in two sizes – 12×12 and minis which are sets of four or six  6×6 designs. As their name states – they are perfect for any type of mixed media crafts as well as your usual paper crafting needs, sewing, cutting and die-cutting. We have a variety of designs so that any crafter can find something up their alley.

Continuing with our Tuesday ‘wings’ theme, we have a mini gift box from our Crew Member Agnes Kieler. Agnes loves angels and this theme was perfect for her. With an old match box and Tattered Angels goodies, she created a super-cute box which is asking to be filed with loads on mini-chocolates and shared with your friends.

‘For as long as I can remember, I always loved angels… They remind me of something powerful and unbreakable. I believe angels are our messengers of goodness and kindness to remind us that we should all be grateful for what we have; so today my project is a small kindness box with an angel, for spreading some good vibes around us.’ – says Agnes.

To create this project, we need to prepare a small box (it can be an empty match box) and paper we would like to cover it with. I chose Mix Media Origins collection which is perfect for this mix media project. I used one small piece with the image with angel wings and glued it to the box with double-sided tape. I covered the inside of the box with white gesso and added a bit of glitter and sisal to decorate it. I also had a small piece of a wing design left so I used it as a decoration inside the box.

Now the fun parts start… You can play as you like with the Mixed Media Origins paper and colour it any way you want. It’s perfect for all the Glimmer Mists and paints. I used shades of blue for the wings and neutrals in the background.

After I finished colouring the box, I prepared my angel image and wings. For that I used wings mould and canvas printed girl. I coloured the wings with silver wax and after added some Glimmer Mists and Glimmer Paint.

When the wings dried, I attached them to the box with glue gun; I also added a small quote, a blue pearl and a silver chain.

For colouring the girl image, I used Dragonfly Glimmer Mist together with Navy Blue and Summer Glow. After the paint dried, I glued it to the box and added one more quote on the outside of the box.

Now, our small gift box is ready to be filled up with nice chocolates or small gifts. We hope you enjoyed creating it.
